About Azure eastus

Azure eastus (East US (Virginia)) is one of Microsoft Azure's high-traffic regions in United States. It is most often used for primary production workloads, public-facing APIs, and SaaS control planes, which means an outage here tends to surface as customer-facing issues for those workloads first. What makes eastus distinct is that it is one of Azure's two flagship East US regions and frequently the default. This page tracks reachability and latency from outside Microsoft Azure's own network, so a regional issue can be visible here before it lands on the official Azure status page.

For wider service-level context, see the global Azure status.

Why this may differ from the official Azure status page

Official status pages can lag real incidents by several minutes. This page reflects what an external client sees right now.
